A Lesson in Every Quilt Lecture with Kristin Echols

This is a one-hour lecture where I show over 40 of my quilts and describe the lessons learned in making quilts using the Quilt-As-You-Go method. Additionally, I show other quilts and techniques I’ve learned. I will show the ugliest quilt I have made and tell you the lessons I have learned.
I teach quilting and am known for my “reversible” or “quilt-as-you-go” classes. Many quilters enjoy piecing blocks and quilt tops but aren’t sure how to finish their quilts. It can be expensive to send out every quilt for professional long-arm quilting, and many quilters are daunted by trying to quilt a whole quilt on their home machines.
I teach students how to quilt one block, row, or section at a time and then join the sections with sashing strips. This is a technique that can be applied to many patterns, and in each class we look at a variety of quilts and patterns. Students leave class with a new skill that they can apply to their other quilting projects.
